Ikea to charge for using credit cards

Ikea has decided to hit their customers in the pocket, for daring to use their credit cards to buy goods from one of they’re stores.

A 70p charge will be added to your transaction, to recoup the charges made by the credit card to Ikea when a customer pays by plastic. This in my opinion smacks of lack of loyalty to British customers who have made Ikea’s UK base, the second largest earner in their company, with a £800 million turnover annually.

It has led to a lot of anger among they’re customers, who spend hundreds if not thousands of pounds in Ikea stores, with assumption that if you spend £500 in a Ikea store on your credit card, they want to charge you 70p for the privilege. Many have said that they may think twice about using the store again and were adamant it was not the cost of the charge; it was the principle that no other retailers do this and they have no plans to do this.
