Many of us out there don’t have a single clue of what sort of debt that we own at present, so let me give you a word of warning on that front, get to know what your financial position is and of what you owe and to who to, because if you don’t then you are leaving yourself open to be a sitting duck for identity fraud.
More than half of the credit card spending public in the U.K can only give a rough estimate of the level of debt that they have, but the worse part is that 15% have not a inkling of the financial position that they are in, this beggars belief and just goes to show how borrowing money these days is so easy to come by, with credit card companies not being as fussy with the incomes that people earn, to make them afford a credit card in the first place.
The reason that this will leave you open to identity fraud should be as clear as crystal, but I will explain the situation that you could find yourself in, if it hasn’t already happened or currently happening without your knowledge at this very moment.
If you know what you owe to your debt, then it will make it easier for you to recognise any irregularities that may befall your credit card and you can deal with them accordingly, but if you are showing apathy towards your debt and are a bit of an ostrich, you will find that you wont spot any purchases or withdrawals that have been made in your name, and by just paying what you can and hoping that will all go away, will cost you everything that you have.
Get real! Identity fraud is on a steep curve and will never end, with crooks in the knowledge that the British public are so laid back when it comes to their debt, they will play on that and milk it for everything that they can, with no thought or pangs of guilt for you, so by grabbing your debt by the scruff of the neck, will mean that you could be stopping from paying, for some crooks lavish lifestyle, as you go from a special treat at a nice restaurant, to brand label beans on toast, think about it and deal with it ASAP.
